Eye Care and Caring For Your Eyes
The Importance of Good Eye
Care
The area around your eyes is where your skin is the most
delicate. It is important to take good eye care of this area as
your eyes are where the first signs of ageing occur!
Because there is no fatty layer of skin around the eye like
there is around the rest of the face, there is nothing to act
as a shock absorber. This is why the skin will lose its
firmness very quickly.
FACT - The skin around the eye is thinner than the rest of your
face, thus resulting in fewer oil glands and not being able to
hold in as much moisture.
There are many ways to reduce the puffiness and dark circles
that we get around the eye, however applying thick moisturisers
and oily products will not do the trick as these will clog up
the tear ducts around your eye which will create more
puffiness.
The most common eye care treatments used are balms and light
‘eye’ creams, and the most effective way of applying them is in
small amounts, on a regular basis.
Why Night Creams Are Important:
Cell renewal is a lot more active while you are asleep than
during the day, this is why it is important to wear night cream
as this works while you are asleep, repairing and renewing the
cells around your eye area.
The added vitamins and anti-ageing products in night creams,
helps repair and revitalise your skin.
Daily wear and tear such as pollution and wearing make up etc
all add to the deterioration of your cells, therefore using a
night cream gives your skin the chance to repair, and leave you
with a smoother, softer complexion the following day.
TIP - Splash some water on your face before applying your night
eye care cream (making sure your skin is still damp) this will
add more moisture to your skin leaving it even softer the next
day.
TIP - If you keep your eye care cream chilled in the
refrigerator, when applied, it will reduce puffiness around
your eye
